![]() My husband has been a bit slower to take to Essential Oils. This is not an insult, just a simple truth. My passion upon discovering doTERRA and these bottles of plant medicine swelled pretty much right from the start, and while he has always been 100% in support of my passion, because he's awesome like that, he didn't fully or quickly embrace them to the same degree. Come to think of it, he may never quite get to the same place as me, and that is ok. Just as he never asks me to dial it back a bit, I try supremely hard not to ask him to be as into it as I am. All of that being said, I have been watching him unroll his curiosity bit by bit, oil by oil and I love witnessing it. Perhaps because he is so practically minded, he has an even better perspective at times than I, because he truly asks the oil to deliver on its scientific, practical properties, which they do! Whereas I connect so strongly to the unmeasurable, emotional offering each oil brings, that I love using them for what can't necessarily be seen, but felt. And the other day, he came up with a GENIUS use for Cassia oil. He was making coffee and wanted to add in a flavor of some kind. I personally, hate flavored coffee so it's rare that we have it in the house and he wanted something that would make it smell and taste like fall. He went through our oils and came back into the room with Cassia. Cassia is made from the bark of an East Asian Evergreen tree and is in the same family as Cinnamon. It is warm, spicy and strong. We use a one cup, slow pour to make our coffee, so he added two drops right into the grounds and proceeded to pour the water over it. What came out was this INCREDIBLE flavored coffee. It was earthy and almost chocolatey tasting and we both were in love. And as a true hater of fake flavored coffee, it's possible that HE has actually turned ME into a believer in something using essential oils. For those who are like Justin and want to know the practical uses of Cassia: It is - 1. A decongestant 2. Can be used for Cold Extremities 3. Great for when you have an upset stomach 4. Improves Circulation 9. Relieves arthritis 10. Relieves Menstrual Symptoms For those who are like me and want to know the emotional properties: According to Emotions and Essential OIls Cassia is The Oil of Self-Assurance It brings gladness and courage to the heart and soul.
